Choosing the Right Print Size

A print can be a small companion beside your favourite chair or the piece that gives a whole wall its focus. The right size begins with the place you want to live with it.

This print size guide covers the three portrait formats in our Crystal Light collection, with a simple way to try each one on your wall before ordering.

The three Crystal Light print sizes

  • 30 × 40 cm / 12 × 16 inches: a smaller piece to consider for a reading nook, a narrow wall or an arrangement with other artwork.
  • 45 × 60 cm / 18 × 24 inches: a middle size to try above a console, beside a bed or as the main piece in a smaller room.
  • 60 × 80 cm / 24 × 32 inches: the largest option in this collection, worth trying where you want one artwork to hold a larger stretch of wall.

These are starting points. The furniture, the space around the print and how far away you usually see it all matter. Each product page includes size-comparison images to help you compare the options.

Try the size on your own wall

  1. Measure the available space. Note the wall width and height, the furniture below it and anything nearby, such as a light switch or door.
  2. Make a paper outline. Cut or join plain paper to the listed metric dimensions. Test it with a removable fixing suitable for your wall surface.
  3. Look from where you spend time. Sit in your usual chair or on your meditation cushion, then look again from the doorway. A piece can feel quite different close up and across a room.
  4. Compare another size. Leave room around the outline so the artwork has space to breathe. For a pair or group, include the gaps between pieces in your measurements.

A room mockup is a useful visual reference. Your own measurements give you the clearest sense of how a print will fit.

Allow for the frame and the printed border

The white gallery border is part of the Crystal Light artwork. It sits within the print, rather than adding an extra paper margin beyond the selected size.

A frame adds to the overall dimensions on your wall. If the available space is tight, contact us to check the finished framed dimensions before ordering.

If you are buying an unframed print for a frame you already own, ask us to confirm the exact paper dimensions for your order first. Check the frame's picture opening and any mount, as well as its outside measurements.

Choose the finish after the size

Once the outline feels right, compare the unframed option with white, natural wood, dark wood or black framing. Our framed and unframed print guide explains what each option includes.
